Neat Engine

The #1 topic of discussion these past few days has been the hot weather. As I write this post, the clouds are cumulating which means the t-storms will soon bring some long-awaited relief. Woohoo!

Here are some fun activities that the Neat Engine has been up to:

Last Wednesday, July 26, Jaws was playing at the Hudson River Park's RiverFlicks Festival. Believe it or not, this was my first time to see the famous great white shark terrorize the small island community of Amity, NY.

Last Thursday, July 27, Movies with a View at the Brooklyn Bridge Park showed Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Unfortunately, 10 minutes into the movie, some rumbling t-storms brought an end to our fun. [Kudos to Transportation Alternative for co-sponsoring the evening!] The evening wasn't a complete loss. At least we got to see Zombie-American, an insightful "mocumentary" that will hopefully "help audiences understand the challenges zombies face in our society." Some of us also had drinks at the Henry Stale House - or perhaps it was the Henry St. Ale House - located at 62 Henry St. in Brooklyn

Last Saturday, July 29, I brought my bike on the Long Island Rail Road to Flatbush Avenue Brooklyn. From there, I met up with some friends at Prospect Park for some wiffle-ball, guitar playing, and car-less bike riding around the park. Here are some photos:

Afterwards, my friend and I rode along the bike lane on Ocean Parkway from Prospect Park to Coney Island. There, we watched the Brooklyn Cyclones beat the Staten Island Yankees, 10-6. Here are some photos:

Needless to say, it was late in the day and I was too tired to ride home. So I took my bike on the train.

On Monday, July 31, at the HBO Summer Film Festival at Bryant Park, we saw A Shot in the Dark - one of the best of the Pink Panther films. Here are some photos:

And last night, I saw the New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-2. These guys make too much money.

Hey Neat Engine, wow! I can't keep up with your busy schedule. All of it is very exciting but I'm exhausted just reading it. Then again, I'm an old lady. hehehehe. And I think you're just making up for lost time...you've been away from the Big Apple a little too long. :)

Nice bike!
Seems your life in New York is definitely much more exciting than in Seattle. :D
