Neat Engine

Unfortunately, the Neat Engine was ill last week and missed many fine NY summer events; namely the New York Philharmonic's concert in Central Park, a Brooklyn Cyclones baseball game against the Oneonta Tigers, and Hitchcock's 1951 movie "Strangers on a Train" at the Brooklyn Bridge Park.

By Friday, I was feeling much better. I rode the Long Island Rail Road and visited my friends in Brooklyn for some dinner at the Burrito Bar and Kitchen. Due to a miscommunication, our dinner of pollo con mole came out as guacomole (which wasn't that good either!). The waiter, I guess, felt bad for his mistake and gave us a round of free margaritas!

Saturday, it "rained like balls." Luckily, this ball-like-rain ended just in time to enjoy some cool-cat swing dancing. My friends and I side-stepped our way for the final evening of Midsummer Night Swing at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and swayed to the sweet sounds of the Harlem Renaissance Orchestra.

On Sunday, my friend and I headed to The Supper Club and laughed at the political-satircal humor of the Capitol Steps. Afterwards, we enjoyed a lazy-day walk through Central Park and ate some very large hamburgers at Nice Matin. To our surprise, we were only a few tables away from 1980s singer, Cyndi Lauper.
