Last night, my friends and I saw To Have and Have Not at the 2006 HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival. Sadly, I fell asleep even before that famous line: "You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and blow."
I treated my dad to a big Father's Day steak dinner at Bryant & Cooper Steakhouse in Roslyn, New York. Mmmm! Meat!
Lunch at Caffe Barocco is always a nice break from work.
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to see The Public Theater perform Macbeth as part of their Shakespeare in the Park series. It was very good. Liev Schrieber, as Macbeth, delivered a commanding performance, which reminded me of his performance in The Manchurian Candidate. However, I thought Jennfer Ehle was a bit weak as Lady Macbeth. What was truly marvelous was the way the weather in all of its swings and swirls added an unexpected enhancing effect to the show. It was almost like nature was giving a performance as well. After a recent trip to West Virginia, some friends and I stopped for steamed crabs at Obrycki's in Baltimore, MD.

You saw Jennifer Ehle!? I love her. Although I cannot imagine, for the life of me, her as Lady MacBeth.
This is Dorothy, by the way. From Seattle. Which must feel so far removed from your life now, I imagine.
Dorothy! It's good to hear from you! Yes, Seattle does feel a bit removed; but the wonderful friends I made there will always remain close.
When will you and Rob visit me in NY? Oh, and how's the piano?
